Wasabi Opens US Central Storage Region in Growing Flexential Partnership
Today marks another milestone in the rapid growth of Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage. To support this incredible growth, we are excited to announce the expansion of the Flexential/Wasabi partnership with the opening of our newest storage region hosted by Flexential in their Plano, Texas data center. This new region services customer data storage needs across the central and southern parts of the United States, Central and South America, expanding Wasabi’s offerings and complementing our existing footprints in the U.S. West and in the U.S. East regions. It also offers more connectivity options for Flexential customers at faster speeds for enterprises in close proximity to their respective data centers.
By expanding its geographic footprint to the U.S. Central Region, Wasabi’s customers now have closer proximity to Wasabi’s hot cloud storage services where companies can store their data at one-fifth the cost of the hyperscalers with no additional fees for egress or API requests. Both Wasabi and Flexential customers now have more connectivity options, additional data center redundancy, automatic data replication and failover services, and faster network access speeds from wherever they are located.
Wasabi’s fast-growing global footprint currently services over 20,000 Wasabi customers and more than 3700 channel partners. This rapid growth has created an increasing demand for more data center locations, including the new U.S. Central Region, with more planned openings worldwide in 2021.
Today’s news comes on the heels of the recent announcement of our expanded partnership with Flexential as they became one of the first data center providers to add cloud storage as a core service for their new and existing customers. Flexential’s customers can now simply add cloud storage to their service agreement and receive a single bill for space, power, network connectivity and cloud storage. Flexential chose Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage to deliver a compelling managed archive storage service to their existing and new customers. The Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL, is just one example of a customer that has begun leveraging the Flexential Archive Storage offering, using it for data backups, including clinical, research and business data. Thousands of Flexential customers now have access to this full range of innovative services.
Wasabi is thrilled to be located in one of the fastest-growing regions in the country where customers from healthcare, high technology, higher education, oil & gas, and governments can now access Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage from wherever they require low cost, high performance, secure cloud storage.
