What’s Going on in the Wasabi Partner Network?
Perhaps it’s because February is the shortest month of the year, but this month flew by exceptionally fast. It’s tough keeping up with everything we do here in the Wasabi Partner Network so we’ve put together this roundup of the top stories so you can stay informed.
Wasabi launches Reserved Capacity Storage
The piece of news we’re most excited about this month is Wasabi’s new pricing model, Reserved Capacity Storage (RCS), which allows customers to purchase a reserved amount of cloud storage for a fixed price for periods of 1, 3, or 5 years. RCS should be familiar to enterprises who are accustomed to buying hardware storage. Much like traditional storage devices, RCS is bought in fixed capacity amounts and paid for up-front. This is a game changer for organizations who cannot provide a credit card to make recurring payments and rely on invoices to make purchases. It’s also an easy entry point for companies who are used to NAS storage but are looking for a way into the cloud. MSPs and VARs affiliated with the Wasabi Partner Network can offer RCS to their customers. Learn more about RCS here.
Veeam V10 has arrived!
This month saw the release of the much-anticipated Veeam Availability Suite v10. The new release comes with a bevy of new features, most notably the ability to copy data directly to object storage. V10 is a huge step forward for users, and for joint Veeam + Wasabi users especially. New Wasabi Backup Partnerships
This month we added two new partners specializing in backup and archive, Igneous and Comet Backup.
Igneous is the SaaS data management company for file intensive environments. Igneous customers are able to immediately use Wasabi as a target for NAS backup and archive for a disruptively low cost and high performing cloud storage solution. You can learn more about Igneous on our Knowledge Base and on our Igneous Solution Briefs on Backup and Archive.
Comet Backup is a light-weight, fast backup software that provides a secure, encrypted backup system that lets customers backup to the storage destination of their choosing. Comet Backup is interoperable with Wasabi’s secure, reliable, and affordable cloud storage platform. This will suit any business or customer base for backups, restorations, and robust protection against ransomware. Learn more about Comet Backup on our Knowledge Base and our Comet Backup Solution Brief.
A new crop of awards from CRN
We were thrilled to receive the news that our SVP of Global Sales & Alliances Marty Falaro was included on CRN’s list of the 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs. These annual lists recognize the top vendor executives who continually demonstrate exemplary leadership, influence, innovation, and growth for the IT channel. We are lucky to count him among our ranks. Congrats, Marty!
Additionally, Wasabi was recognized as one of CRN’s 100 Coolest Cloud Companies of 2020. This annual list honors the premier cloud technology suppliers in five key categories: infrastructure, platforms and development, security, storage, and software.
Taking Wasabi on the road
Last month, Wasabi team members travelled to Dallas, TX to attend two events held by our technology partners.
First, Wasabi attended the Milestone MIPS event in Dallas, TX. We learned a lot about the surveillance industry’s relationship with the cloud and spoke with industry professionals about their data storage needs.
Concurrently, Wasabi attended the sales kickoff event for our backup and archiving partner Quest, also in Dallas, TX. Our team spoke to the Quest sales team about the value of Quest and Wasabi’s joint archiving and disaster recovery solution, goals for 2020, and what direction the team will move in to meet those goals.
Despite its length, February had no shortage of amazing partner stories to share. Thank you to the team that made this past month of partner activities so successful.
